Donald Vincent Schiller, age 89, of Owatonna, passed away June 5, 2018 at Birchwood Cottages, in Owatonna.
Don was born on November 3, 1928 to parents Joseph and Mary (Rysavy) Schiller in Owatonna.
After graduation from Owatonna High School, Don was drafted in to the United States Army during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he came back to the Owatonna area and worked for his dad at his ornamental metal workshop. In October 17 1953, he married Loretta Hockert in Owatonna. He then started his career as a mailman for the United States Postal Service until retirement.
Don is survived by his wife, Loretta; children, Tim (Peggy) Schiller, Eau Claire, WI, Susan (Steve) Johnson, Coon Rapids, MN; one granddaughter, and five great-grandaughters.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Jerry. A private interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
