Dennis Ray McNeill, age 71, of Wells, MN slipped peacefully away from these earthly bounds on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Oakland, California. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells. Everyone is invited to the celebration of life which will commence after the graveside service and will be held at the Wells American Legion.

Dennis graduated from Wells-Easton High School and later from the university of Minnesota. Denny had a variety of interesting jobs after graduation. He worked on the Old Milwaukee railroad with his brother Brad and with his brother Larry at a grocery chain in California. He worked in a nursery for a short time and owned and operated a shoe store in Mankato and then left to teach English in Japan. However, with his vibrant personality he finally found his calling and settled down as a sort of psychologist/bartender for the next 40 years in several different establishments and ended up at a bar in Oakland, California called Crogan's. Denny loved to travel and would go see his brother Jim in Arizona for the annual baseball spring training. He also went to many other countries around the world, including climbing Mt. Everest with his brother Larry. Dennis was an avid reader and spent a lot of time just sitting in the sun reading a good book with a glass of wine. He loved to spend time with his family and always enjoyed coming home for Kernel Days every year to spend time with his lifelong friends.

Dennis is survived by his brothers: Larry McNeill of Sandy, Utah, Jim (Diane) McNeill of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brad McNeill of Northfield, Minnesota; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mildred (Thorson) McNeill.

In Lieu of flowers, please send any contributions in Dennis' name to your flavorite charity or to Denny's favorite charity, which is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Utah Chapter located at 124 S. 400 E Suite #2250 in Salt Lake City, Utah 84111.
